This week’s Makeup Wars is all about long lasting products – just in time to help you figure out your Summer makeup sitch. I’ve stumbled on a few products that I consider must-haves going to warmer weather (or, as we call it in Texas, melt-your-face-off weather). Check them out below:
- Jay Manuel Beauty Skin Perfector Founation: This recent find is a natural-looking, but buildable foundation that’s all but bulletproof in hot, humid weather.
- Huda Beauty Lip Contour: When it comes to ultra-creamy lip liners that last until you’re ready to take it off, Huda hit the nail on the head. These are super smooth upon application, but not so soft that you’re going to risk a soft line. Nothing but crisp edges comes from these, yet they’re creamy enough to use as an all-over lip color.
- Supergoop! Defense Refresh With Rosemary: No Summer makeup is complete without a sunscreen. I know you’re supposed to reapply SPF throughout the day, but any makeup wearer knows that’s easier said than done. Supergoop’s Defense Refresh not only makes re-application easy and low-risk when it comes to disturbing your makeup, it acts as a setting spray that refreshes and binds – so your makeup isn’t moving until you want it to. While I find the rosemary scent to be refreshing, those who are sensitive to fragranced products might find it a little too strong.
- Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipsticks: Although they’re the most recent find, these lipsticks have found a long-standing place in my daily Summer makeup routine. Between the range of colors, and long-lasting staying power, these are must-haves for lightweight matte lip product that you don’t need to worry about having to touch up throughout the day.
